The Gervais Group's Community Involvement

Giving back to the community is important to our team. We believe in supporting our local community as well as national and global organizations. We sponsor the local Mequon Thiensville Turkey Trot, North Shore Academy of Gymnastics, Ozaukee Ice Center, and Greely Soccer. We are also committed to donating and hold near and dear to our heart United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Compassion International, Cedarburg Junior Woman’s Club, and 100 Women Who Care-Ozaukee.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters has been an incredibly rewarding commitment for more than 10 years, during which Lori has served as board president, a big sister and a board member. In 2012, Lori received the organization's "volunteer of the year" award.

Breast Cancer Research and Prevention

For 13 consecutive years, our team has proudly sponsored breast cancer education, prevention, research and treatment through our involvement with the Wearable Art Show. Our participation began as an active member in the Junior Women’s Club and has led us to become a leading sponsor of the annual event.

In 2018, the event will change course to be a Spring Market supporting all women cancers and will be held on March 17, 2018.

Financial Literacy

Education is a personal priority for our team and it has become an enjoyable and fulfilling way for us to give back to the communities where we live. Annually, we teach retirement classes in the local community and donate all proceeds to the sponsor. Additionally, members of our team have served as guest speakers for financial literacy at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Women Leaders Conference, VIP Community Group, Johnson Controls, Inc. and the East Shores Library System to name a few.

Baird Gives Back

Baird has a long tradition of giving back to the communities in which our associates live and work. Many Baird associates team up during Baird Gives Back Week, an event held annually in the spring, to help with projects such as preparing and serving food, tutoring students, working with seniors, building homes, and cleaning up parks. Baird supports and recognizes associates’ passion for giving in various ways, including:

  • "Baird Cares" provides associates with an extra paid day off each year to volunteer in their communities.
  • Baird Foundation's Charitable Gift Matching Program matches a portion of Baird associates' nonprofit contributions.
  • The Brenton H. Rupple Citizenship Award, named for a former Baird chairman, is presented annually to an associate who makes outstanding contributions to civic, charitable and academic organizations.

Baird Foundation

Baird Foundation supports nonprofit organizations aligned with our focus on health and human services, education, the arts and diversity. We believe in sharing our strong commitment to equality and opportunity for all, and we seek to support organizations where our associates are actively engaged in order to maximize our impact.  Learn more about our commitment to the community in the 2016 Baird Foundation Annual Report
